The male client presented with ingrown hairs on the neck, accompanied by inflammation, pus, and hyperpigmentation. These issues caused discomfort, particularly with clothing contact, and negatively impacted the client's confidence and quality of life.
The treatment protocol consisted of 3 sessions of Nd:YAG laser hair removal (Cynosure Elite+ laser), each followed by a chemical peel. The first session was complemented with a salicylic acid peel to reduce active inflammation and exfoliate the skin. The subsequent 2 laser sessions were followed by Jessner peels to address hyperpigmentation and further refine the skin texture. This combination therapy was designed to target ingrown hairs, inflammation, and discoloration simultaneously.
Complete reduction in ingrown hairs: All ingrown hairs were successfully treated, preventing recurrence.
Complete decrease in inflammation and pus: The treated area showed complete resolution of pustules and irritation.
Improved skin tone and texture: The peels effectively reduced hyperpigmentation, leaving a more even and radiant complexion.
Enhanced comfort: The client experienced no further discomfort or irritation from clothing contact.
Boosted confidence and quality of life: The visible improvements in the treated area greatly enhanced the client's self-esteem and overall comfort.
The combination of 3 laser hair removal sessions and 3 chemical peels effectively addressed the client’s concerns, resulting in lasting improvements in skin clarity, comfort, and appearance. To sustain and optimize these results, it is recommended to complete a total of 6 laser hair removal sessions and consider periodic maintenance treatments as needed.
